Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking motivated students for its Landscape Maintenance Internship, a 10–12 week paid program based at our Fairfax area operations. You will rotate through field operations and office tasks, gaining hands-on experience across production, irrigation, and branch leadership.

You will work with a mentor, participate in shadowing, and present a final internship summary. Candidates must be pursuing a relevant degree and able to lift up to 50 pounds; pay is $16–$18 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
• Interest in working in a team-oriented, customer-focused industry with a willingness to support a variety of operational needs.
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties.
• Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Job shadowing with teams in Field Operations, Irrigation, Enhancements, Sales, and Branch Leadership.
• Dedicated mentorship with regular feedback and professional development.
• Learning leadership, professional etiquette, and communication skills for future roles.

• Building professional networks through interactions with peers and leaders.
• Opportunities to gain further training in a department of choice at program end.
• Final presentation of internship experiences, projects, and lessons learned.
