Southland Industries invites you to join its Internship and New College Graduate program in design engineering for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection. You’ll assist the design team with calculations, drawings and specifications under supervision.

As a large MEP firm, Southland offers hands‑on experience, exposure to real projects, and potential full‑time opportunities after graduation. Paid internship/co‑op and housing support in some locations are available.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers in design tasks and related work.
• Prepare basic deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specs for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Perform calculations (loads, equipment sizing, piping/duct sizing, friction loss).
• Coordinate design with project management, architects and other trades.
• Assist in CADD drafting and checking work.
• Review codes and field conditions to support design decisions.
