Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting and to support clinicians with rooming, vital signs, and documentation in the electronic medical record. The role requires CMA or RMA certification and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

The position involves preparing patients, assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, handling routine laboratory tasks, and ensuring patient safety and efficient care delivery in a clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Certification by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information using the EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between patients.
• Assist patients to prepare for visits and ensure safety and privacy.
