Geisinger is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting and to support clinicians as part of the health care team. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, EKGs, basic wound care, phlebotomy, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

Candidate must hold CMA or RMA certification and have completed a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification required by governing associations.
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program (1-year certificate or 2-year diploma) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and document patient visit information, vital signs, and screening data.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms between patients.
• Assist providers during visits and minor procedures as needed.
• Administer medications as policy allows (not IV).
• Perform phlebotomy and related lab tasks under supervision.
• Document thoroughly in the EMR and manage referrals/pre-authorizations as needed.
• Support front desk tasks including scheduling, filing, and patient communications.
