Job summary

WWC Engineering is seeking motivated Civil and Environmental Engineering students to join our Summer 2027 Internship Program. You will collaborate with engineers, surveyors, geologists, and technical staff on meaningful projects that support communities across our service regions.

This internship provides hands-on experience in engineering design, construction inspection, environmental assessment, surveying, research, regulatory compliance, and technical writing.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying, Computer-Aided Drafting, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering, surveying, and other staff members with day-to-day project work.
• Perform preliminary designs and calculations under the guidance of a Project Manager.
• Learn Autodesk Civil3D and other design software applications.
• Research and summarize design concepts, regulations, and technical information.
• Collect and document field data, including construction inspections, surveying, soil and water sampling, and site photos.
• Contribute to technical reports and regulatory permit applications.
• Support compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
• Work in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
• Receive mentorship from licensed professionals.
• Contribute to meaningful civil and environmental projects.
• Exposure to both office and field work.
