Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship based in Dulles, VA. This field-based program provides hands-on experience alongside seasoned arborists, climbers, and landscape professionals to deliver high-quality client service while learning essential tree health care skills.

Hours are 40-50 per week, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays; pay ranges from $22 to $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing studies in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or related discipline.
• Driver’s license required; commercial license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor by working in the field with experienced Arborists and Plant Health Care technicians.
• Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
• Assist with tree and landscape installation and safe operation of field equipment.
• Gain exposure to plant health care tasks including deep root fertilization and pest/disease management.
