Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks an Arborist Trainee Internship in Maryland. This field-based internship runs Spring–Summer 2027 in Annapolis/Glen Burnie, MD, offering hands-on experience with tree care, pruning, planting, and health care alongside experienced arborists.

You will learn safety, client service, and basic operations while supporting a residential tree care office. Hours are 40–50 per week, with some Saturdays; pay is $22–$23 per hour.

Qualifications

Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license a plus

Responsibilities

Learn tree care in the field alongside experienced arborists and landscape professionals
Tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance
Tree & Landscape Installation
Operate equipment safely, including chainsaws and chippers
Plant Health Care activities and soil care
Support daily operations of a residential tree care office
Develop client service, sales, management and leadership fundamentals
Participate in internships and regional workshops
