Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation is seeking an Unit Coordinator for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at 55 Fruit Street, Boston. This onsite role supports clinicians and staff, coordinating patient flow and maintaining accurate medical records.

Schedule is 40 hours in the evenings (12:30 pm - 8:30 pm), with occasional weekend/holiday shifts. Requires strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and 1–2 years of admin experience. Onsite work with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
• Unit Coordinator Certification - NAHU, Inc. preferred (if available in candidate background).
• 1-2 years of administrative support experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff.
• Coordinate day-to-day patient flow with nursing, including admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Greet patients, families and visitors in a professional manner and manage inquiries.
• Enter admissions, discharges and transfers into the electronic medical record accurately.
• Schedule consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport as needed.
• Assist with payroll duties or scheduling of staff as directed by manager.
