Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree preferred.
• Unit Coordinator Certification preferred.
• 1-2 years administrative support experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and standard office equipment.
• Ability to proofread and edit written documents; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff in an inpatient unit.
• Organizes priorities, completes tasks on time and manages confidential patient information.
• Coordinates day-to-day patient flow including admissions, discharges and transfers with nursing staff.
• Delivers outstanding service for all customer interactions.
• Performs clerical duties to support unit administration and greets patients and visitors.
• Registers and tracks information at the central nursing station and throughout the unit.
• Schedules consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport to other departments.
• Enters admissions and transfers into the EMR to facilitate efficient patient flow.
