Job summary

Medical City Orthopedic & Spine Center in Dallas is seeking a PACU Nurse to provide post-operative care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will ensure safe recovery, monitor patients, and collaborate with the surgical team to meet discharge criteria.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, 1+ year PACU/ICU or surgery experience, and holds or will obtain BCLS, ACLS, and PALS (as required), with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification upon employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.
• 1+ year nursing experience in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area and ensure equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor vital signs and other parameters per policy.
• Insert and maintain IV lines and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings or operative sites and report abnormalities.
• Provide a safe, comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
