Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse for Jacksonville Surgery Center in Jacksonville, FL. This role focuses on safe post-anesthesia care, airway management, and timely discharge per facility protocols.

Responsibilities include preparing the care area, monitoring vitals, IV management, and performing head-to-toe assessments. Requires RN license in Florida, ACLS, and BCLS; PALS as needed. Benefits support health, retirement, and education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a PACU or ICU setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• Required valid BCLS Certification; ACLS and PALS as required by facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient care area and ensure equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as needed.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations using an approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Assist patients in meeting discharge criteria.
