Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. in Plantation, Florida is seeking a PreOp PACU Registered Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center to provide safe, evidence-based nursing care in the postoperative period until discharge.

You will monitor vital signs, manage IV therapy, and support patients and families, ensuring adherence to policies and discharge criteria; requires RN license and perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of employment.
• 1+ year nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably Preop/PACU/ER/ICU or Surgery.
• BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area with equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temp, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Provide a safe, comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure discharge criteria are met.
