6 Degrees Search is partnering with a regional healthcare system in Great Falls, MT to recruit a Hospital PACU Registered Nurse for a full-time, on-site role in the perioperative and observation setting.

The ideal candidate holds an ASN (BSN preferred), MT RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2–4 years of acute care experience. Expect varied shifts and a supportive team culture committed to optimal nurse-to-patient ratios.

Qualifications

• Education: ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Active MT RN license (or compact/endorsement eligibility).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & PALS required on hire.
• Experience: 2–4 years in acute Medical/Surgical or Critical Care.
• Preferred Experience: ICU workflows highly preferred.
• Core Skills: Advanced nursing principles, asepsis, IV management, basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, and optimize patients for elective/outpatient procedures.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway/ventilation.
• Advanced Visual & Device Care: care for post-op patients with chest tubes, lines, and short-term ventilation (training provided).
• Wound & Line Management: monitor dressings, incisions, drains to catch complications.
• Symptom & Pain Control: titrate IV meds; manage PANV; use warming devices.
• Observation Unit Care: care for observation patients from ED or post-surgical status.
• Collaborative Leadership: coordinate with Providers, Anesthesia, Nurse Managers, and staff.
• Discharge & Transfer Planning: apply Aldrete Score for home discharge or hand-off to inpatient units.
