Job summary

United Future is seeking a Hospital PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-site role in Great Falls, Montana. You will provide post-anesthesia care, monitor patients, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams in a hospital outpatient setting.

The position emphasizes supportive nurse-to-patient ratios, strong teamwork, and comprehensive benefits. Evening, night, and weekend rotation may occur.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred).
• Active RN license in Montana or compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, optimize patients for elective/outpatient procedures.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway/ventilation.
• Advanced Visual & Device Care: monitor post-op patients with chest tubes, lines, ventilator support.
• Wound & Line Management: inspect incisions, dressings, drains to prevent complications.
• Pain control: titrate IV meds for post-op pain; manage PANV.
• Observation Unit Care: care for patients in observation beds from ED or post-op status.
• Discharge & Transfer: use scoring systems to clear for home discharge or hand-off to inpatient units.
