Essenti Talent is seeking a Hospital PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Great Falls, Montana. The role focuses on safe pre-op, post-anesthesia care, and ward handoffs within a hospital perioperative setting.

The ideal candidate will have ADN or BSN, Montana RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2–4 years of acute care experience. Expect varied shifts and a team-driven environment with strong nurse-patient ratios.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred).
• Active, unrestricted RN license in Montana (or compact endorsement eligibility).
• Core certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required on hire.
• Minimum 2–4 years of hospital experience in acute Medical/Surgical or Critical Care.
• CCU/ICU familiarity is highly preferred.
• Strong foundation in nursing principles, asepsis, IV management, and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, and optimize patients for elective/outpatient procedures ensuring pre-op checks.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway/ventilation and hemodynamics; perform neuro checks.
• Advanced Visual/Device Care: manage post-op patients with chest tubes/lines and short-term ventilation as needed.
• Wound & Line Management: monitor wounds, dressings, drains, and lines for complications.
• Symptom & Pain Control: titrate IV meds for post-op pain and PANV; manage hypothermia/shivering.
• Observation Unit Care: care for observation patients from ED or post-surgical status.
• Collaborative Leadership: coordinate with Providers, Anesthesia, and nursing leadership; support staff.
• Discharge & Transfer Planning: use Aldrete or similar scoring to discharge safely or hand off to inpatient units.
