Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Hospital PACU Registered Nurse (RN) in Great Falls, Montana. This full-time on-site role supports the surgical services division with strong nurse-to-patient ratios and a collaborative culture.

The ideal candidate has an ADN (BSN preferred), MT RN licensure, and 2–4 years in acute care or ICU settings. Certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS are required on hire, with a focus on post-anesthesia recovery and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Active MT RN license or immediate compact/endorsement eligibility.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required on hire.
• 2–4 years of acute hospital M/S or Critical Care experience.
• ICU experience is highly preferred.
• Strong nursing knowledge, asepsis, IV skills, and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, and optimize patients for surgery and ensure safety checklists are met.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway and vitals.
• Advanced Visual & Device Care: care for post-op patients with chest tubes, lines, and short-term ventilator support.
• Wound & Line Management: monitor wounds, dressings, drains, and incisions for complications.
• Symptom & Pain Control: titrate IV meds and manage PANV; use warming devices for normothermia.
• Observation Unit Care: care for observation patients from ED to discharge or transfer.
• Collaborative Leadership: coordinate with Providers, Anesthesia, Nurse Managers, and staff.
• Discharge & Transfer Planning: use Aldrete Score for discharge or hand-offs to inpatient units.
