Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a Hospital PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-site role in Great Falls, Montana. You will support perioperative care, monitor patients waking from anesthesia, manage lines, tubes, and post-op recovery, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
• Active, unrestricted RN licensure in Montana (or endorsement eligibility).
• Core certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS on hire.
• Minimum 2–4 years of recent hospital experience in acute Medical/Surgical or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, and optimize patients for elective procedures.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway/ventilation and neuro checks.
• Advanced Visual & Device Care: monitor patients with chest tubes, central/arterial lines, short-term ventilator support.
• Wound & Line Management: monitor incisions, drains, dressings and prevent post-op complications.
• Symptom & Pain Control: titrate IV meds, manage PANV, and control hypothermia/shivering.
• Observation Unit Care: care for observation patients from ED to discharge.
• Collaborative Leadership: coordinate with Providers, Anesthesia, Nurse Managers; guide LPNs/CNAs.
• Discharge & Transfer Planning: use Aldrete Score to clear for home or report to inpatient units.
