Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Hospital PACU team in Great Falls, MT. This full-time, on-site role focuses on early post-anesthesia recovery with a strong emphasis on patient safety, teamwork, and high-quality care in a hospital-based setting.

Responsibilities include pre-operative preparation, post-anesthesia monitoring, and discharge planning, with collaboration across anesthesia and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred).
• Active MT RN licensure (or compact/endorsement eligibility).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative Preparation: assess, admit, and optimize patients for elective/outpatient surgery.
• Phase I Recovery: monitor and stabilize patients waking from anesthesia; manage airway and ventilation.
• Care for higher-acuity post-op patients with chest tubes/central lines/arterial lines.
• Wound and drain surveillance; manage dressings and drains to prevent complications.
• Titrate IV medications for post-op pain; address PANV and thermoregulation.
• Coordinate with Providers, Anesthesia, and nurses; guide LPNs/CNAs; support discharge planning.
