Job summary

UPMC is seeking a PACS Administrator I to oversee operation and maintenance of imaging systems across departments. The role emphasizes system upgrades, data integrity, and collaboration with physicians and IT teams to improve workflows and support regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will coordinate interactions among imaging IT resources, provide training, and ensure smooth interfaces with vendors, ensuring uninterrupted imaging operations.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and supporting imaging IT systems (PACS/RIS/PowerScribe).
• Ability to train users and troubleshoot imaging applications.
• Knowledge of DICOM workflow, data integrity, and interface support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation, testing, and optimization of PACS, RIS, PowerScribe, and imaging apps.
• Serve as primary application resource for medical imaging systems with IT and vendors.
• Monitor RIS/PACS data integrity, interface support, and patient record validation.
• Participate in system upgrades, new modality integrations, and equipment implementations.
• Analyze workflows, identify improvements, and enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Develop and maintain policies and training materials for imaging applications.
• Collaborate with physicians, leaders, technologists, IT, and vendors to support imaging initiatives.
• Provide on-call support and assist with regulatory/compliance activities.
