Job summary

Southern Champion Tray, LP is seeking a Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift in Chattanooga, TN. You will safely pack product glued on the machine to achieve target run speed and quality, while also bagging and case-packing with accurate counts and labels.

You will assist with machine feeding during troubleshooting, maintain clean, safe work areas, and communicate issues to supervisors and QA staff. Training in 5S and food-safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to utilize software.
Must read and understand documents in English and write legibly.

Responsibilities

Safely pack product glued on the machine to meet target run speed.
Bag product and fill a corrugated case with the proper case count; notify supervisor of issues.
Maintain quality by learning defective characteristics and communicating with operators and QA staff.
Occasionally feed during troubleshooting; keep hopper loaded and monitor product flow.
Notify Operator when new pallet blanks are needed to avoid run interruptions.
Packs cartons per work order, verifies counts, weighs cartons, and follows labeling instructions.
Maintain a clean work environment compliant with 5S and Food Safety policies.
