Job summary

Southern Champion Tray is seeking a Packer Technician to assist with setting up, maintaining, and operating the auto-packer and related packaging lines at the Amnicola Plant in Chattanooga, TN. The role supports the operator in achieving target run speeds while ensuring product quality and process safety.

Responsibilities include apparatus setup, equipment troubleshooting, quality sampling, and maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
Must have mechanical ability and skills.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot the auto-packer, and assist the gluer set-up as needed.
Set up, maintain, and operate pack assist, case sealer, labeler, and automation equipment.
Set up and replenish tape; troubleshoot the case sealer.
Assist in quality sampling of product.
Interact with an electronic control panel and keep pace with high-speed equipment.
Use downtime to assist with setup or maintain a clean work area per supervisor instructions.
Communicate effectively with team members and follow new procedures for efficiency and safety.
Maintain a clean work environment following Food Safety and 5S systems.
