Job summary

ALPLA Group’s Lima Plant in Ohio is seeking a Packaging Operator to coordinate production workflows and packaging tasks. You will support the Shift Supervisor to ensure packaging needs are met and equipment is used efficiently.

Responsibilities include material supply (foil, cartons, trays, etc.), assisting operators for smooth workflow, setting up multiple packaging equipments, and ensuring accurate labeling where needed. Safety and quality are central to the role.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably plastics.
• Strong health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Technical understanding of manufacturing and IT.
• Knowledge sharing and training skills.

• Coordinate packaging needs with Shift Supervisor on production equipment.
• Ensure lines are supplied with materials (foil, cartons, trays, etc.).
• Assist operators to maintain smooth workflow.
• Set up and operate multiple packaging equipment types (erectors, inserters, closers, palletizers).
• Ensure labels match product where manual labeling is required.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

To coordinate job assignments and workflow of Packaging Operators.

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with needed materials. For example:
  • Foil
  • Cartons
  • Trays
  • etc.
• Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow
• Setup and operate multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to: carton erectors, partition inserters,
  product inserters, top closers, palletization equipment
• Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required.
