Job summary

ALPLA Group in Lima, OH is seeking a Custodian to support overall plant housekeeping and safety. You will keep production and non-production areas clean, remove debris, and help maintain clear walkways and exits.

The role emphasizes following safety policies, PPE, and environmental expectations, with opportunities for professional development within a growing, sustainability-focused company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated production and non-production areas per plant requirements.
• Remove non-hazardous debris, cardboard, and general waste from operations.
• Maintain walkways, aisles, entrances, and exits free of clutter and hazards.
• Support 5S and housekeeping initiatives throughout the facility.
• Assist in maintaining exterior entryways and surrounding areas.
• Assist with seasonal facility needs such as salt application and snow/ice awareness.
• Identify facility issues that may require maintenance attention.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely.
• Report unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Ensure cleaning aligns with plant safety, GMP, and environmental expectations.

What Will You Enjoy Doing

Support overall plant housekeeping standards to promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Clean designated production and non-production areas in accordance with plant requirements
• Assist with removal of non-hazardous debris, cardboard, and general waste from operational areas
• Help maintain walkways, aisles, entrances, and exits free of clutter and trip hazards
• Support 5S and housekeeping initiatives throughout the facility
• Assist in maintaining appearance and cleanliness of exterior entryways and surrounding areas
• Support seasonal or weather-related facility needs such as salt application, entry mat upkeep, or snow/ice awareness around entrances (if applicable)
• Help identify facility issues that may require maintenance attention
• Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and housekeeping procedures
• Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and according to instructions
• Report unsafe conditions, spills, leaks, damaged equipment, or sanitation concerns to leadership
• Ensure cleaning practices align with plant safety, GMP (if applicable), and environmental expectations
• Maintain awareness of pedestrian and forklift traffic while performing duties
