Job summary

ALPLA Group in Lima, OH, is seeking a skilled supervisor for the Molding Department to manage performance, quality, and reliability of molding machines. You will monitor critical parameters, ensure defect-free inputs, and drive process optimization across shifts.

The role requires three years in blow/injection molding, experience with ALPLA equipment is preferred, and you will train operators while maintaining safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in blow molding or injection molding environments.
• Experience with ALPLA equipment preferred.
• Ability to train technical personnel and prioritize safety.
• Strong communication and teamwork to operate in a unionized plant.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance, quality, efficiency and reliability of all molding machines.
• Monitor critical parameters to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Ensure quality product is produced and processes are optimized.
• Coordinate with Materials for raw materials availability and defect-free input.
• Identify, monitor and report discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Make minor repairs to molds and molding equipment.
• Supervise cleanliness and order of machines and tools.
• Assist Production Manager in training Machine Operators.

What Will You Enjoy Doing

Manage the performance, quality, efficiency and reliability of all molding machines in the Molding Department.

• Identify and monitor critical parameters to ensure all assigned machines are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, according to recommended operating guidelines
• Ensure quality product is being produced at all times from the Process
• Ensure process is optimized to the fullest extent
• When applicable, ensure all raw materials required are available and defect free before being processed
• Identify, monitor, and report inconsistencies in above areas for all shifts not worked and create and implement corrective action plans to overcome discrepancies
• Make minor repairs to molds and molding molding equipment
• Supervising orderliness, cleanliness and working order of the assigned machines and tools
• Assist the Production Manager in implementing required training for Machine Operators

What Makes You Great

• Minimum three years in respective Blow molding or Injection molding required, prefer application on ALPLA equipment
• Experienced in either Toolmaking, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic systems preferred
• Able to work in team environment
• Able to train technical personnel, Train the Trainer certification
• Effectively manages time as a resource; gives balanced attention to appropriate long-term and short-term priorities
• Must have flexible work availability
• Ability to prioritize, plan and execute duties with minimal supervision
• Good Communication Skills
