Job summary

Pures Food Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Supervisor for the 3rd shift in Melrose Park, IL. You will supervise packaging lines, coordinate with the shift supervisor, and ensure safety and quality.

The role requires directing employees, maintaining equipment, enforcing FDA guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement. This position offers a hands-on leadership role in a manufacturing facility with opportunities to optimize productivity.

• Must be able to communicate with both direct report employees and management

• Mathematical skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate packaging line activities during 3rd shift
• Evaluate and recommend hires or terminations
• Ensure production efficiency and safety compliance
• Train and coach operators to minimize downtime
• Maintain equipment in operational condition
• Enforce FDA and company guidelines
• Document downtime and efficiency losses
• Communicate shift activities to operations team daily
• Assist with continuous improvement

Job description

Operations of all packaging lines under the supervisor of the shift supervisor.

• Supervises and coordinates activities such as work procedures, employee rotation, work schedules and
• Evaluates and recommends employees for hire or termination
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Enforce company safety, break & lunch policies
• Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
• Tracks and communicates employee performance and provides disciplinary / corrective action as needed
• Train and coach other operators and line employees to maintain high efficiency with minimal down time
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Ensure all packaging equipment is in operational condition
• Establish tasks for employees to ensure a clean workplace
• Document down time and lost efficiency
• Ensure quality guide lines for products are followed
• Enforce all FDA and company guidelines
• Assist with Continuous Improvement
• Review and assist with all quality control documents
• Ensure Food Safety of Production
• Communicates with all cross functional shift activities from other shifts to operations team on a daily basis
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required by management

• This position works in a manufacturing facility and requires standing, bending, climbing or walking 80% of the time
• Must frequently twist, bend, and stoop when performing work tasks.
• Frequently carry or lift 50 pounds or more.
