Job summary

ALPLA Group in Lima, Ohio, seeks a packaging operator to operate, maintain and troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment on the production line. You will be required to stand for long periods, lift up to 55 pounds, and keep a clean, safe work area while following strict quality procedures.

You will load boxes, hand-package bottles, perform changeovers, document records, and ensure accurate labeling and packaging quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Min. 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 55 pounds and to stand for a minimum of 12 hours.
  • Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.
  • High cleanliness standards for the machines and work area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment.
  • Loading, building and making boxes; hand packaging of bottles.
  • Maintenance includes routine cleaning and minor maintenance.
  • Loading/unloading packaging materials.
  • Accurately document records of finished goods and packaging specifications.
  • Perform changeovers of packaging equipment (eg case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, …)
  • Applies correct labels and perform quality checks.
  • Housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.

What Will You Enjoy Doing
Main Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to:
    • carton erectors
    • partition inserters
    • product inserters (MPV, VPM, PLU)
    • foil dispensers
    • top closers
    • palletization equipment
  • Manual responsibilities include:
    • loading, building and making boxes
    • hand packaging of bottles
    • loading labels
  • Maintenance includes:
    • perform routine cleaning, and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure smooth operations
  • Loading/unloading packaging materials such as corrugate, containers or other raw materials
  • Documentation:
    • Accurately document records of finished goods, packaging specifications, or any visual quality checks
    • Perform changeovers of divers packaging equipment (eg case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, …)
    • Applies correct labels
    • Perform quality check consisting of visual inspection of overall product, labels and packaging integrity for defects
    • Housekeeping
    • Perform Autonomous maintenance
Performance Metrics:
  • Labeling Accuracy: Maintains a labeling accuracy rate of 100% by consistently following all labeling procedures without deviation.
  • Quality Control Compliance: Performs all required quality checks with 100% completion and accuracy, identifying and reporting any defects per standard operating procedures.
  • Line clearance accuracy
  • Autonomous maintenance completion
