Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an Industrial Machinery Sales Representative in Lyndhurst, NJ. This on-site role focuses on capital equipment solutions, including packaging machinery, with a base of $80k–$90k plus uncapped commission.

Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, on-site consultations, managing the full sales cycle, and coordinating with engineering and project teams to ensure successful installations and customer onboarding.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in capital equipment or industrial machinery sales.
• Strong technical aptitude to present machinery specs and benefits.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a sales territory independently.
• Familiar with CRM tools and sales reporting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, trade shows, and referrals.
• Conduct on-site visits and technical consultations to assess customer needs and recommend machinery solutions.
• Manage the full sales process from initial contact to proposal, quoting, negotiation and closing.
• Collaborate with engineering, service and project teams for smooth installation and onboarding.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts with regular follow-ups and value-added support.
• Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to company growth.
• Split time between field visits and office-based work managing sales activities and proposals.
