Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Field Service Engineer to design, program, install, and support complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for packaging machinery. The role focuses on PLC/HMI programming, field commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting with customers.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams across fillers, seamers, and cappers, traveling up to 100% of the time, including nights and weekends as needed. Solid knowledge of NEC/NFPA-79/UL-508 is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service engineering or similar.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and troubleshooting.
• Rockwell HMI programming experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical for schematics.

Responsibilities

• Interpret schematics and engineering drawings for electrical systems.
• Design electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components for packaging machinery.
• Program PLCs and peripherals in Rockwell environments.
• Develop HMI programs with FactoryTalk View.
• Travel to customer sites for installation, startups, and commissioning.
• Generate bills of materials from specs and drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customers.
