Job summary

The University of Utah seeks a Package Room Supervisor to oversee Sunnyside Apartments package room operations, including receiving, processing, storage, distribution and delivery. You will hire, train, and supervise staff, coordinate with carriers, and drive process improvements to deliver excellent resident service.

You will manage daily activities, establish performance metrics, and prepare management reports.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising full-time and part-time employees.
• Experience overseeing a package room, mailroom, or shipping/receiving operation.
• Experience using package-tracking, electronic locker, inventory, or property-management software.
• Experience developing procedures or implementing customer-service and process improvements.
• Experience working in student housing, multifamily housing, higher education, hospitality, or residential environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all package‑room operations including receiving, scanning, recording, sorting, storing, distributing and delivering packages.
• Develop and improve procedures for accurate, prompt processing and resolve unclaimed, damaged or misdelivered packages.
• Maintain records, protect resident information, and keep areas safe and organized.
• Coordinate with delivery companies and university partners to improve delivery processes.
• Hire, onboard, train, schedule, and supervise staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Lead daily team activities and monitor performance metrics with reports for management.
