Job summary

Sundance Consultants, part of True Environmental and its partners, seeks an Archaeologist PI/Project Manager to lead cultural resources field crews and expand archaeology services in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The role oversees all phases of cultural resource investigations under NHPA Section 106/110, with potential NEPA involvement and permitting support for various clients.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field.
  • Minimum five years supervisory experience in cultural resources; ten years preferred in desert southwest and intermountain west with architectural historians.
  • Experience using GPS in remote field locations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while remaining detail-oriented and team oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; strong people skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment and post-employment drug and alcohol tests.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cultural resources projects and field studies, directing teams and coordinating field logistics.
  • Guide proposal development including scope, schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate with clients and colleagues to develop regional work in the Northwest.
  • Assist in invoicing, staff management, and budget tracking.
  • Act as PI/Principal Investigator for cultural resource projects, including data recovery and report writing.
  • Coordinate project mobilization and demobilization to site locations.
  • Support NHPA Sections 106/110 analysis and project permitting for diverse clients.
  • Develop regional staff resources and mentor junior staff.
