Job summary

The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) in Tumwater is seeking a Functional Program Analyst 3 with property and casualty expertise to help protect Washington consumers.

You will independently investigate complaints, review policies, analyze coverage, and advocate for fair outcomes while explaining complex insurance issues in plain language. This is more than a customer service role.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of professional work experience in regulatory examinations, underwriting, compliance, rating, or claims.
• Experience applying federal and/or state insurance laws and regulations.
• Ability to analyze data and complex insurance issues to support consumer advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve consumer complaints involving licensed insurance companies.
• Advocate for consumers to ensure fair treatment and appropriate resolutions.
• Explain insurance issues to consumers and provide education on rights and coverage.
