Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) in Tracy, CA, is seeking a Shelter Monitor/Residential Advocate for a 16-hour-per-week, part-time overnight shift on Saturdays and Sundays from 11pm to 7am.

This on-site role supports a 150-bed shelter, providing direct participant engagement, safety monitoring, and program operations under supervision. RP emphasizes trauma-informed, survivor-centered care and requires background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress or crisis situations.
• Ability to follow direction and work effectively within a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and apply trauma-informed, survivor-centered practices.
• Ability to complete all required background checks, including fingerprinting Live Scan and CCL requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct Participant Support: provide direct support to shelter participants in a respectful environment.
• Program Monitoring and Safety: monitor spaces to ensure safety and adherence to guidelines.
• Operations Support: assist with daily shelter operations including check-in and bed assignments.
• Conflict Resolution and Crisis Response: respond to conflicts using de-escalation techniques.
• Documentation and Communication: complete shift logs and incident reports accurately.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: work with coordinators and staff to support participant needs.
