Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated leadership in creating safe working environments.
• Mentor team members across hourly roles and SDITs with safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales.
• Staffing, hiring, and succession planning to meet store needs.
• Apply disciplinary actions and manage potential discharge decisions.
• Maintain P&L oversight, achieve sales targets, and control shrink.
• Model fast, friendly, and exceptional customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and with customers.
• Ensure thorough training and readiness of staff for all roles.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation per company standards.
