Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader in Cincinnati to oversee team member engagement, coaching, and performance management. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, drive area operations, and steward financials, including shrink, productivity, and scheduling.

This role emphasizes process improvements and upholding Meijer culture. You will oversee onboarding, staffing, and development, ensuring alignment with corporate plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
• A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising which leads to meeting the needs of our customers/community and gaining sales and market share.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback to be successful.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support store staffing and leadership pipeline.
• Involvement in candid discussions with team members to ensure Meijer standards are upheld and growth opportunities exist.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing the execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity and owning budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety and compliance throughout the store and oversees overall condition management and adherence to procedures.
• Ensures Leaders assign daily work and training needs; performs other duties as assigned.
