Job summary

Safe Harbor seeks a 3rd Shift Client Support Specialist to provide overnight shelter safety, structure, and basic client support. This role maintains a trauma-informed presence, conducts walk-throughs, updates records, and coordinates with on-call staff to meet overnight needs.

Part-time, hourly, non-exempt, with work hours from 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM, including weekends. Requires strong communication, trauma-informed care, and ability to lift up to 25–30 pounds. Prior shelter experience preferred.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in shelter, residential, or overnight support preferred.
Understanding trauma-informed care and community living structure.
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and follow structured overnight protocols.
High school diploma or GED required.
Computer literacy with email, word processing, and data entry.

Responsibilities

Maintain a calm presence during overnight hours.
Conduct routine shelter walk-throughs to observe safety and emotional concerns.
Monitor doors and secure access.
Respond to client needs using trauma-informed practices.
Notify supervisors of safety concerns.
Complete overnight documentation and logs.
Assist with light cleaning and restocking.
Dispense OTC medications and personal care items per policy, logging all distribution.
Document activity in databases/logs before end of shift.
Coordinate with staff and leadership on shift issues.
