Job summary

Westhab is seeking a Safety Security Officer for the morning shift in the Bronx. The role requires a NYS Security Guard License and 8-Hour Annual Certificate, with a High School diploma or GED and prior security experience.

Responsibilities include controlling access, patrolling the facility, and reporting incidents. The position is full-time, on-site, with mandated overtime and shift flexibility to cover 24-hour operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and prior security experience.
• Must have NYS Security Guard License and current 8-Hour Annual Certificate.
• Fire Guard License for Shelters preferred (F02).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily room inspections and escort clients to appointments.
• Monitor and interact with clients to maintain safety and order.
• Control access at the main entrance and screen visitors.
• Respond to incidents and document all noteworthy events.
• Make hourly rounds throughout the facility and report issues.
• Complete logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
