Samaritan Village in Bushwick, Brooklyn, seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, order, and timely client services. Under the Operations Coordinator, you will supervise staff, manage schedules, conduct safety drills, coordinate transportation, and protect client privacy under HIPAA and 42 CFR.

The full-time role pays $24.72/hour (about $45,000/year) with a comprehensive benefits package; FDNY‑80, CPR and NYC Food Handler certifications are required or

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years in human services, preferably with homelessness or substance use.
• Ability to obtain FDNY F-80 within 90 days of hire.
• Willing to obtain CPR and NYC Food Handler’s certifications as needed.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shelter operations to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Conduct safety checks, lead fire drills and evacuations.
• Manage daily activity schedules and ensure client services occur on time.
• Oversee client appointments, transportation, and escorts as needed.
• Administer breathalyzer tests or observe urine collection when required.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and ensure HIPAA/42 CFR privacy compliance.
