Job summary

Cocoon House is seeking an Overnight Youth Housing Support Staff (Residential Youth Counselor) for the Transitional Living Program in Everett. You will provide a safe, supportive environment, teach life and social skills, and offer enrichment activities to teens in residential care.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, inclusive care and collaboration with youth and staff. Weekend overnight coverage is required, with a Friday-Monday shift and wage starting at $23/hr plus multilingual

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with youth.
• Must attend weekly team meetings and bi-weekly supervision.
• DCYF background clearance required.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to diffuse escalated youth and maintain safety.
• Ability to record information for case planning and CPS reporting.

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff in a positive, collaborative way.
• Maintain healthy and safe boundaries with youth.
• Accept diverse lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural/spiritual practices.
• Assess emergencies, gather information, and provide proper support.
• Follow required reporting and licensing procedures.
• De-escalate crises and apply trauma-informed, equitable care.
• Process youth intakes/exits and conduct orientation with proper recordkeeping.
• Coordinate with case managers to support youth plans and document logs.
