Job summary

Cocoon House in Everett, WA is seeking a Youth Housing Support Staff (Swing Shift) to provide a safe, supportive environment for teens in our Transitional Living Program. You will build caring relationships, promote life and social skills, and coordinate activities with staff in a residential setting.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, equity-based care, antiracist practices, and close collaboration with case managers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• 6 months minimum experience working with youth.
• Attend weekly team meetings and bi-weekly supervision.
• DCYF background clearance required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
• Ability to diffuse escalated youth situations.
• Ability to document information for case planning and CPS reporting.
• Familiarity with local services and accessing them.
• Ability to assess dangerous emergencies and summon help.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff.
• Model healthy boundaries with youth.
• Respect diverse lifestyles and beliefs.
• Assess emergencies and provide appropriate support.
• Follow mandated reporting procedures.
• Utilize trauma-informed care and anti-racist practices.
• Process intakes and exits and document data.
• Collaborate with case managers on youth plans.
• Supervise youth and enforce safety policies.
• Assist with household tasks and meals.
• Arrange appointments and transport youth as needed.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and organization.
• Provide meals and grocery planning.
• Communicate with other providers to support youth commitments.
• Transport youth to appointments as required.
• Participate in enrichment programs and activities.
