Job summary

Cocoon House in Snohomish County is seeking a Residential Youth Counselor (Youth Housing Support Staff) to provide a safe, supportive environment for teens in a Transitional Living Program located in Everett. The role focuses on building supportive relationships, teaching life and social skills, and delivering enrichment activities in a residential setting.

Starting wages are $21/hour with a $1.50/hour multilingual differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• DCYF background clearance required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff.
• Maintain healthy boundaries with youth.
• Accept diverse lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices.
• Assess emergency situations, gather pertinent information, and provide proper support.
• Follow mandating reporting and licensing policies and procedures.
• De-escalate youth in crises with trauma‑informed care in all work.
• Process intakes and exits for youth and enter required data for records.
• Coordinate with case managers to support youth plans and maintain logs.
