Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island seeks a Residential Counselor to guide and supervise youth in a Providence residential program. You will help residents make daily life decisions within policy and contract requirements, promoting their physical and mental well-being and implementing Trauma Systems Therapy.

The role requires empathy, strong listening skills, flexibility to work evenings/weekends, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, good listeners, with a hopeful outlook for youth.
• Willing and capable to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Background in psychology, social work or related fields encouraged; diverse experiences welcome.

Responsibilities

• Guide and supervise children/adolescents in a residential setting.
• Assist residents in daily decision making within agency policy and contract requirements.
• Provide an environment promoting physical and mental well-being and implement Trauma Systems Therapy.
