Job summary

Vinfen is seeking an overnight program assistant to provide individual and group support to persons served in a community living arrangement in New Haven, CT. The role focuses on safety, independence, and quality of life while maintaining a clean, secure environment.

You will assist in treatment programs, document progress, and support with daily living activities, transportation, and emergency responses. CPR/First Aid and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Three months to one year experience in a related function.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
• Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age and pass a driver screening/background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment programs, including ISP/PSTPs and clinical programs.
• Maintain records for persons served; collect behavior and academic data and maintain progress notes.
• Provide training and support to persons served in completing ADLs, including showering and personal hygiene.
• Monitor physical and emotional needs, and report changes to supervisor.
• Store, administer, document and dispose of medication for persons served per MAC requirements.
• Participate in mandated training and staff meetings; orient new staff; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Comply with policies and procedures, safe work practices, and exposure control.
• Perform hands-on tasks to facilitate implementation of support plans and ensure site safety.
• Provide physical intervention and/or first aid in emergencies; report to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
• Must remain awake, alert, and dressed during the shift.
• Perform other related duties as required.
