Qualifications

  • Three months to one year experience in a related function.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid US driver's license presented at employment.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid US driver's license maintained for at least six months.
  • Adequate insurance if using a personal vehicle.
  • Safe driving record and successful driver's screening background check.
  • CPR certification required within two weeks of hire.
  • First Aid certification required within two weeks of hire.
  • MAC certification required, following Connecticut guidelines.
  • Safety Care certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform overnight program activities in a community living arrangement.
  • Provide individual and group support to persons served.
  • Teach skills that enhance independence and quality of life.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and clean residential environment.
  • Assist in implementing treatment programs, including ISP/PSTPs and clinical programs.
  • Participate in treatment planning as needed.
  • Maintain records, collect behavioral and academic data, and write progress notes.
  • Document incidents, programs, and routine activities in communication logs.
  • Train and support persons served with ADLs, including showering, hygiene, dressing, and household chores.
  • Conduct and document fire and safety training.
  • Monitor physical and emotional needs and report changes to the supervisor.
  • Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication according to MAC requirements, regulations, and company policy.
  • Attend mandated training and staff meetings.
  • Assist with orienting new staff.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Follow corporate and divisional policies, safe work practices, workers' compensation, universal precautions, and exposure control procedures.
  • Perform hands-on program tasks, general housekeeping, snow shoveling, and garbage removal.
  • Ensure site safety and maintenance.
  • Provide transportation as necessary.
  • Maintain required staff-to-person-served ratios and provide last-minute coverage.
  • Provide physical intervention and first aid during behavioral or medical emergencies.
  • Report to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
