Job Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing ISPs and recommended plans, emphasizing community employment
- Work directly with persons served individually and in groups to develop skills
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training at community job sites, program job sites, and work crews
- Provide travel, social skills, and vocational skills training
- Travel to various community locations and work sites
- Monitor job progress and program effectiveness
- Provide written documentation and ensure appropriate coverage
- Implement clinical, educational, and vocational/employment programs
- Collect, quantify, and transfer data to daily charts; perform bi-monthly data analysis
- Maintain physical upkeep of program areas and properly use, clean, and store equipment
- Advocate for persons served
- Complete ongoing training in applied behavioral analysis, teaching techniques, and job coaching
- Manage daily operations at a program, facility, or community employment setting as required
- Collaborate with persons served, families, friends, employers, and support staff
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1 year of related experience/training
- Strong time management, organizational and writing skills
- At least 21 years of age
- Current, valid US driver's license for at least 6 months; other posting language states at least one year
- Adequate personal vehicle insurance if using a personal vehicle and safe driving record
- Must pass CORI, reference, national fingerprinting, driving record, and driver's screening background checks
- Must become CPR and First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment
- Must become MED certified within 150 days of employment
- MAC certification required, following CT guidelines
- Safety Care certification required within 60 days of hire
- Knowledge of empowerment, self-advocacy, advocacy, communication styles, assessment practices, physical personal management, independent living management, crisis intervention, community resources, job and training opportunities, and documentation requirements
- Presentation, persuasive, collaborative, and participative skills
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to provide a positive role model
- Ability to perform physically active duties, assist clients with daily living tasks, lift at least 25 pounds, and operate computers and office equipment
