Job summary

Continuum of Care in New Haven offers a Residential Aide position at the New Haven Halfway House, supporting residents with daily living skills, group activities, and safety within the facility.

The role requires one year of healthcare experience, CT CNA certification preferred, and a valid CT driver’s license. Weekend shifts include a differential. CPR/First Aid certification will be provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in a related healthcare field.
• Licensed CNA or other related healthcare certification accepted in lieu of experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification offered as part of orientation; employee responsible to maintain ongoing certification.
• Valid Connecticut Driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
• Scattered site and non-24 hr. programs require reliable transportation and willingness to transport clients.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport and positive working relationships with clients while maintaining professional ethics.
• Provide daily living prompts and activities to support independent living.
• Lead group activities and outings; assist with medications as applicable.
• Ensure living spaces are safe, sanitary, and well-organized.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision; document shift logs.
