Job summary

Continuum of Care in New Haven, CT is hiring a Residential Aide for the Emergency Housing program. The role includes supporting residents with daily living activities, providing companionship, and monitoring health and medications under nursing supervision.

Responsibilities also cover group activities, crisis response, safety checks, and accurate electronic record keeping. The shift is 3rd, weekends, from midnight, with a $1/hour differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year healthcare experience.
• Valid Connecticut Driver's license with clean driving record.
• CPR/First Aid certification available or required during orientation.
• Experience with mental illness or disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport and professional ethics while helping clients.
• Assist with daily living activities and promote independence.
• Lead groups and accompany residents on outings.
• Provide transportation to appointments and teach travel planning.
• Document shift logs and maintain electronic records.
