Job summary

Safe Place for Youth in Los Angeles is hiring a Resident Coordinator Overnight (full-time, 11:00pm–7:30am). The role oversees the Pico-Union Transitional Housing Program, ensuring safety, cleanliness, crisis response, and resident support.

You will interact with youth, enforce house rules, and collaborate with case managers and staff. Requires a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience, plus 2+ years in direct services for high-risk youth; a CA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or related lived/working experience considered
• 2+ years direct services experience preferred for high-risk transitional age youth
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and harm reduction is preferred
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid California driver’s license and insurance required

Responsibilities

• Perform daily house and property inspections for safety and curb appeal
• Maintain inventory of program supplies and meal support materials
• Assist with program intakes/exits and prepare intake/files
• Coordinate meal support and food pantry donations
• Communicate safety/maintenance issues to SPY Maintenance and track outcomes
• Build relationships with residents and enforce house rules
• Coordinate and support on-site educational and life skills programs
• Drive SPY vehicles to transport residents to services
• Prepare required program reports
• Work nights/weekends as needed
