Job summary

Safe Place for Youth seeks a Resident Coordinator (Part-Time) Overnight in Los Angeles. The role supports transitional age youth, oversees the Pico-Union Transitional Housing Program, and collaborates with case managers to ensure safety and service access.

The role requires night/weekend availability, non-exempt status, and driving clients to services while maintaining program standards and crisis response when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus; and a valid CA driver’s license is required.”

Responsibilities

• Daily house and property inspections to maintain safety and curb appeal.
• Maintain inventory and storage of program supplies (snacks, activities, cleaning products, etc.).
• Assist with program intakes and exits, including preparing intake packets and organizing living spaces.
• Coordinate meal support and food pantry donations for residents.
• Report health/safety or maintenance issues to SPY Maintenance promptly and track outcomes.
• Engage with residents, enforce house rules, and provide crisis response and conflict resolution.
• Communicate issues to the Housing Programs Manager and collaborate with case managers.
• Coordinate volunteers on-site and prepare resource lists for residents.
