Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Little Canada, MN is seeking part-time Positive Support Specialists to join our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS). You will help individuals gain independence, participate in community activities, and maintain safety within the home and community.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is a high school diploma, but a related degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.
• Clear background check by BCA and driver’s license required (MVR).
• Must be able to stand, squat, bend or walk for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of local resources are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals become more independent in life skills like meals and hygiene.
• Advocate for rights, medical care, and community participation.
• Complete required documentation every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely; training provided in PBIS and restraints per 245D.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
