Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring an Afternoon Part Time Positive Support Specialist to assist individuals with intensive needs in ICRS programs, in home and community settings, using person-centered care.

You will support independence in daily living, advocate for rights and medical needs, document activities, and participate in trauma-informed care; a strong team ethos and ALIVE Workplace are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
• Must be physically able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods; ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of local community resources is a plus.
• Must pass a BCA background study and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in daily living activities such as meal preparation and personal hygiene.
• Advocate for individuals in rights, medical care, and community integration.
• Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping each shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely; training provided in Positive Behavioral Supports and 245D requirements.
• Engage in trauma-informed care on a daily basis.
